Secondary Mastery Specialists – are you ready to return?

Did you train as a Mastery Specialist with the NCETM but then lose touch with your Maths Hub? Perhaps you changed email address, or maybe you were on maternity leave and took some time out from teaching. You may have had a promotion, or moved to a new school or college.

Whatever the reason, we would love to hear from you. We can then put you in touch with your hub again. Hubs are always keen to welcome back Mastery Specialists who trained with them, and to meet those Mastery Specialists who have crossed the boundary into a different hub area.

Mastery Specialists who trained with the NCETM any time in the past seven years can still lead Maths Hubs Work Groups in a variety of areas. If you think you would need to brush up your skills and knowledge before leading a Work Group again, professional development sessions focusing on key areas of mastery and maths pedagogy will be available.

If you feel ready, there are still opportunities to lead Work Groups in 2023/24. And if you need more time, you can start by simply re-engaging with your local Maths Hub and finding out what’s involved in becoming one of their Local Leaders of Mathematics Education. Why not get in touch, and discover how your hub can support you to start leading maths professional development again? It’s easy – simply send us an email with your details, including where you are currently working, and we will ask your hub to contact you. We are looking forward to hearing from you.
