A new article on our website gives two examples of multi-academy trusts (MATs) successfully engaging with Maths Hubs and seeing maths performance rise. Primary schools in both trusts have also had recent Ofsted inspections where maths learning has been singled out as being of a particularly high standard.
The trusts, one in the South East and another in south Devon, have 38 primary schools between them. Both have taken policy decisions in the last few years to work closely with the Maths Hubs Teaching for Mastery Programme. In particular, both trusts have worked with their local Maths Hub, to:
- train Mastery Specialists in numerous schools
- support schools to take part in Teaching for Mastery Work Groups (also known as Teacher Research Groups).
Jon Chaloner, CEO of the GLF Schools, with schools in London, Surrey, Oxfordshire and Sussex, says:
